Invisalign®? What is it?

Invisalign® is a new way to straighten your teeth. It is invisible and doesn't use braces. Invisalign® consists of a series of clear, removable aligners who will gradually strighten your teeth, without metal ot wires.

How does Invisalign® work?

Invisalign® uses 3-D computer generated images. The images will depict the plan to bring the teeth into their final desired position from which a series of custom made "Aligners" are produced. Each "Aligner" moves teeth incrementally and is worn for two weeks. The next "Aligner" will then replace it until the desired position is achieved.

Why Invisalign®?

The Invisalign® treatment has four major advantages:

  1. Invisalign® "aligners" are nearly invisible and very cosmetic. No one will know that you are straightening your teeth.
  2. Invisalign® "aligners" are removable. It permits you to eat and drink anything. It permits you to brush and floss normally.
  3. Invisalign® "aligners" are also comfortable. No metal brackets or wires are used to cause mouth irritation. This saves time as you spend less time getting adjustments.
  4. Invisalign® allows you to view exactly how the treatment will work. You can see how your teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

What are aligners made of?

Aligners are made of clear, strong medical grade plastic that is practically invisible when worn.

What do aligners look like?

Aligners look similar to clear tooth-whitening trays. However aligners are custom made to better fit to move teeth.

How does Invisalign® effectively move teeth?

Invisalign® aligners move teeth by applying controlled force on the teeth. The benefit is that Invisalign® not only controls forces, but also the timing of the force application.

Can i go to any orhtodontist or dentist to be treated with Invisalign®?

Specific training is needed to use Invisalign®; as a result, orthodontists and dentists are required to become Invisalign®-certified before they can begin treating patients with Invisalign®.
